6-string Guitars

When purchasing a 6-string guitar, gbl offers the opportunity to purchase an instrument designed entirely according to your individual preferences.

You can choose between different body shapes. For example, jumbo models for blues or similar styles of music, A-style models for Irish folk, and smaller body shapes for intricate fingerpicking.

The 6-string guitars from gbl are characterized by their high volume, a differentiated sound, maximum transparency and fast transient response.

This is achieved through the careful selection, the finish and the type of the soundboard bracing (modified X-bracing).

The choice of wood determines the timbre of the instrument: Long seasoned spruce is available for the soundboard.

For the body, the customer can choose from different tonewoods: maple, rosewood, walnut, cherry.

The necks are usually made of maple or cedro and are reinforced by an adjustable steel rod that is accessible through the sound hole. The customer is free to choose the width and shape of the neck.

The head can be "cut out" upon request.

Fingerboard and bridge are made of ebony or rosewood, the frets are made of wood chips.

Mechanisms include the Schaller mini M6 with ebony buttons and for cutout heads the Schaller Hauser-style. The scale is 650 mm, saddle and purfling are made of bone.
