Cutaways

The cutaway guitars from gbl are characterized by their high volume, a differentiated sound, maximum transparency and fast transient response.

This is achieved through careful design and the type of the soundboard braces (modified X-bracing).

The wood selection determines the timbre of the instrument: Long seasoned spruce is available for the soundboard.

For the back and sides, the customer can choose from different tonewoods: maple, East Indian rosewood, rosewood, walnut, cherry.

The neck is usually made of maple and is reinforced by an adjustable steel rod that is accessible through the sound hole. The customer is free to choose the width and shape of the neck.

The head can be "cut out" upon request.

Fingerboard and bridge are made of ebony, the frets are made of wood chips.

Mechanisms include the Schaller mini M6 with ebony buttons and for cutout heads the Schaller Hauser-style.

The scale is usually 650 mm, saddle and purfling are made of bone.
